HUNTSVILLE, AL (June 14, 2012) – The Alabama Hammers will conclude the 2012 Professional Indoor Football League season with a road game against the Louisiana Swashbucklers this Saturday night at 7 p.m.
The Swashbucklers (5-6) will be looking to avenge last week’s 58-42 loss while the Hammers (3-8) will be looking to build off of their best game of the season.
The Hammers defense came up with several big plays during last week’s game, forcing five turnovers and scoring two defensive touchdowns while ending the Swashbucklers five-game losing streak. PIFL Defensive Player of the Week Ray Little led the defense with three interceptions,
Offensively, quarterback Arvell Nelson returned to the starting lineup and completed 21-of-32 passes for 217 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 12 rushes for 41-yards and two touchdowns.
The Hammers come into the game averaging 52.0 points per game, while averaging 209.8 yards passing per game and 30.1 yards rushing per game. Defensively, the team is averaging 263.3 yards of total defense allowed per game, 233.7 passing yards per game, and 29.5 rushing yards per game.
